Tests to diagnose: 

A CT scan or an MRI of the head is typically the first test performed.

To determine the type,loaction and cause of the stroke:

  • Blood tests 
  • ECG,EKG 
  • Cerebral angiography 
  • Carotid/doppler ultrasound 
  • Blood thinning drugs (aspirin,warfarin,heparin)
  • Clot bursting drug (t-PA)
  • Surgery: To remove clots around the brain and restore blood vessels 
  • Intracranial vascular treatments (Partially invasive)
