Thyroid Problem (Grave S Disease)


The symptoms include:

  • Anxiety
  • Breast enlargement in men (possible)

Tests to diagnose: 

The tests include

  • Blood tests to measure levels of TSH, T3, and free T4
  • Radioactive iodine uptake and scan

Medicines called beta-blockers are often used to treat symptoms of rapid heart rate, sweating, and anxiety.  Other treatment includes antithyroid medications, radioactive iodine and surgery.
