Anxiety Attack / Panic Attacks


The symptoms include palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate, sweating, trembling or shaking, sensations of shortness of breath or smothering, feelings of choking, chest pain or discomfort, nausea or abdominal distress, feeling dizzy, unsteady, light-headed, or faint, chills or heat sensations, paresthesia (numbness or tingling sensations), feelings of unreality or depersonalization (being detached from oneself), fear of losing control or “going crazy”, fear of dying.

Tests to diagnose: 

The tests to diagnose anxiety attacks are a complete physical examination, blood test, electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG).


The treatments include Cognitive-behavior therapy and Exposure therapy and medications such as Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), Benzodiazepines and Serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs)
