Albinism/ Albinos


The symptoms include absence of color in the hair, skin, or iris of the eye, vision problems, patches of skin that have an absence of color.

Tests to diagnose: 

To diagnose albinism genetic testing is done and electroretinogram test (that measures the response of the light-sensitive cells in the eyes) to reveal problems with your eyes associated with albinism.


The goal of treatment is to relieve symptoms. Treatment depends on the severity of the disorder, glasses are often prescribed to correct vision problems and eye position sunscreen’s are used to, reduce the risk of sunburn.
