Symptoms:
- Bloody diarrhea
- Painful or frequent defecation
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Headache
- Unexpected weight loss
Tests to diagnose:
Doctor will advice the patient to take a stool test. The sample will then be sent to a laboratory.This will then be analyzed under a microscope for the presence of whipworms.
Treatment:
Doctor will prescribe an antiparasitic medication (albendazole and mebendazole).
