AMD (Age Related Macular Degeneration)

Symptoms: 

Loss of visual acuity, loss of contrast sensitivity and distortion of central vision, diminished or changed color perception, hallucinations of geometric shapes or people, in case of advanced macular degeneration, difficulty in recognizing faces are the symptoms of AMD.

Tests to diagnose: 

Visual acuity test, dilated eye exam, retinal imaging, amsler grid, fluorescein angiogram and Optical coherence tomography are the tests done to find AMD

Treatment: 

Increased vitamin take, magnifying lens, anti-VEGF medication to prevent the growth of new blood vessels in the eye and laser treatment are used to treat AMD.
